We have supported 24 of our sponsor families in Butiiti with urgently needed rainwater tanks. 23 have already been installed thanks to donations. Another tank will be provided shortly. In many rural areas of Uganda, access to clean water is a daily challenge. With your generous donation, we were able to help families collect and store rainwater, which not only significantly improves their quality of life, but also reduces the risk of waterborne diseases. Every contribution counts and brings families one step closer to clean water. Thank you very much for your generosity and compassion!
In Butiiti, there is no piped water supply to houses. Water is usually collected from unhygienic water holes into jerrycans, carried home, and must then be boiled to make it safe for drinking. Fetching water is a strenuous task.

Project Update 2025
We are very happy and proud that shortly after the end of our first Christmas donation phase, 5 water tanks have already been installed for the families of our sponsored children. A big thank you to all the many donors! The next tanks will be installed in the coming months. Here are a few photos of the happy families.
May Update
An additional 8 water tanks have now been installed for the families of our sponsored school children. This brings a major improvement to their living conditions, as these families now have access to clean water right at home and no longer have to fetch their daily supply from a distant water hole.
Project Update 2026
Our goal has been achieved: We have equipped 20 homes of our sponsored children’s families with a rainwater tank. The children no longer have to make long, arduous journeys to the water hole to fetch water for their families. Thanks to the water tanks, water collected from the roof via gutters and channeled into the tank is available directly at their homes all year round. A huge thank you to all the generous donors, some of whom individually donated a tank worth €1,400.
Without your help, the living situation of these families would not have changed so significantly for the better.
Project Update September 2026
Following up on the project, there was a special request from the Petro Kyamulesire Primary School, which several of our sponsored children attend. This school has no water connection and asked whether we could also fund a large water tank for the school using donation funds. The board agreed, and money was transferred for the construction of a large rainwater tank for the school. This now helps not just a single family, but 280 children at the school.
Here too, our heartfelt thanks naturally go to everyone who supports our association with donations and makes such projects possible.
